Local teams lead at state boys golf tournament

Posted:

VERONA, Wis (WKOW) - It was a picture perfect day at University Ridge golf course for round one of the WIAA state boys golf tournament.  Division one players started the day. Holmen will take a two-stroke lead over Arrowhead to start round two. Our top local D1 team is Janesville Parker at +43.  Stoughton's Henry Klongland is at +1 in 5th place three shots behind the leader Jordan Niebrugge of Homestead.

Local teams dominated in divisions two and three. Led by Erik Danielson and Andrew Morrison at even par, Edgerton takes an eleven stroke lead into Tuesday's final round. Danielson and Morrison are just one stroke behind the individual leader, Osceola's Charlie Danielson, who's at one under.

In division three, it's been all Cuba City. The Cubans, led by Nate Murray, have a 15-stroke advantage over Osseo-Fairchild. Murray is one shot out of the lead at 6-over.
