
VERONA, Wis - It was a special day at the WIAA state boys golf tournament for two local teams who captured their first state titles. In division two, Edgerton held off Madison Edgewood by five strokes. In division three, Cuba City ran away with a 27-stroke victory over Osseo Fairchild. Edgerton was led by Andrew Morrison who shot a two-day total of +5. Erik Danielson also shot a +7 for the Crimson Tide. Cuba City was led by both Alex Stewart and Dakota Thole. Each shot a two-day total of 16-over 161.
Edgerton native Steve Stricker spent the day watching his Crimson Tide finish as state champs for the first time as well.
