MADISON (WKOW) -- Republican Jerry Petrowski has defeated Democratic challenger Donna Seidel for an open state Senate seat in Tuesday's recall elections.
Four state senators, along with Gov. Scott Walker and Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch faced recall after signatures were collected this past winter.
One of the state senators, Pam Galloway of Wausau, resigned rather than defend her seat. State election officials continued with the election to fill her seat.
Seidel and Petrowski both currently serve in the state Assembly.
