Middleton soccer beats Waunakee in sectional shootout 3-1

WAUNAKEE (WKOW) -- The Middleton soccer team topped the top seed Waunakee 3-1 in a shootout. After 100 minutes of play, which included two 10 minute overtime periods, the two teams settled the contest in a shootout. Middleton scored on its second, third and fourth chances, while Waunakee only scored on its third opportunity. The Cardinals play Madison West back in Waunakee on Saturday night at 7 for a trip to the state tournament.
