Autopsy reveals little in Lake Kegonsa deaths

Posted:
STOUGHTON (WKOW) -

The autopsy of the two Stoughton-area teens found dead in Lake Kegonsa last week is complete.

The Dane County Medical Examiner Office confirms earlier reports from authorities that 15-year-old Sydnie Kwiatkowski and 16-year-old Emma Maurer were not injured.

The two went missing at La Follette Park near Stoughton on Thursday afternoon, and their dead bodies were found in the lake on Friday.

Authorities are waiting on more test results to declare a cause of death, but those tests may not be back for several weeks.

Family and friends held a candlelight vigil at the La Follette Park Saturday night.

Stoughton High School, which the girls attended, wrapped up classes last week, but administrators say counselors will be on hand at the school this week to talk with any students having trouble coping with the loss of their classmates.
