Wisconsin sports celebrities celebrate 2012 U.S. Women's Open
MADISON (WKOW) -- Some of Wisconsin's most recognizable sports figures will pair up with the world's best LPGA players to tee-off on the opening day of Championship Week at the 2012 U.S. Women's Open.
Packers, Bucks and former Badgers will kick off the event on July 2. Green Bay Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy, Packers fullback John Kuhn, former Packers offensive tackle Mark Tauscher, Wisconsin Badgers player Ron Dayne and Milwaukee Bucks forward John Leuer will be among other Wisconsin sports celebrities.
Players will be available to interact with fans. A question and answer session starts at 3:00 p.m. Tee-off starts at 3:30 p.m. Children 17 and under will be admitted for free with a ticketed adult. Tickets start at $15.
Jim Richerson, U.S. Women's Open General Chairman and Group Director of Kohler Golf, says they welcome families and sports fans to come out to watch.
"What a fun way to kick-off the 2012 U.S. Women's Open with some of Wisconsin's notable sports figures competing with the top women in the golf world," Richerson said.
There will be several autograph signing sessions.
