Sun Prairie beats Appleton North 6-4 in state quarterfinal

APPLETON (WKOW) -- The Sun Prairie baseball team advanced to the semifinal round of the WIAA Division I baseball tournament with its 6-4 win over Appleton North. Cardinal pitcher Nate Hoffman had 7 strikeouts in 7 innings, and Sun Prairie hitters Anthony Butler and Coyt Mayr each knocked in 2 RBI. The Cardinals advance to face Stevens Point on Tuesday night, after SPASH won its quarterfinal game 6-4 over Oconomowoc. The winner moves on to Thursday's D1 championship contest.
