RACINE (WKOW) -- Investigators in Racine County are looking into what they're calling possible voting irregularities.
The sheriff's department says someone reported finding suspicious voter registration documents in a trash bin at the Cesar Chavez Community Center, a polling place in Racine.
The local district attorney's office also asked investigators to look into more allegations of voting irregularities at a second polling place in Racine, the Dr. John Bryant Center.
Voters in that district cast ballots for the governor's race and Senate District 21, in which Democrat John Lehman defeated incumbent Republican Sen. Van Wanggaard according to unofficial results.
The win gave Democrats the majority in the Senate.
Wanggaard is still deciding whether to request a recount.
