MADISON (WKOW) -- Dane County says it's E-Recycling event this weekend was a huge success.
The county says people turned in an estimated 400,000 lbs. of computers, televisions and other electronics.
It was enough to fill 16 semi trailers.
It's also 100,000 lbs. more than collected last year.
In the event's four years, people living in Dane County have recycled about two million pounds of old electronics.
MADISON (WKOW) -- Dane County will hold a free e-waste recycling event at the Alliant Energy Center on Saturday.
Residents can drop off unwanted computers, electronics and TVs.
The e-waste recycling event helps prevent an estimated 1.6 million pounds of electronics from going into area landfills.
The event is from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
All vehicles must enter either the main entrance off Rimrock Road or the entrance off Olin Avenue.
