Child sexual assault investigation in Lake Geneva

LAKE GENEVA (WKOW) -- The Lake Geneva Police Department is investigating a complaint of sexual assault to an 11-year-old child.

The mother and her child filed the complaint to officials on Monday. According to police, the complaint references multiple sexual assault instances to the 11-year-old boy by a 51-year-old man from the Town of Lafayette.

The reported assaults occurred at the Lake Geneva YMCA and at the suspected offender's home in Lafayette.

According to police, the suspect was a Big Brother/Big Sister sponsor and has been in contact with the child since August of last year. 

The suspect was booked into the Walworth County Jail. Charges have been referred to the Walworth County District Attorney's Office.
