TOWN OF WESTPORT (WKOW) -- A Waunakee man is arrested after sheriff's deputies say he hit and seriously injured a motorcyclist, then took off from the scene of the crash.

Bayardo Torrez-Gutierrez, 41, is charged with Hit and Run Causing Injury and was given several tickets.

The Dane County Sheriff's Office says just after 10:00 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a crash involving a car and motorcycle at the corner of County Highway Q and County Highway K in the Town of Westport. Investigators say Torrez-Gutierrez, who was driving the car, had fled northbound. A Waunakee police officer found him later on Woodland Driver at Century Avenue.

The man on the motorcycle, Joshua D. Parsons, 30 and his passenger, Heather A. Boyer, 29, were taken to UW Hospital with serious injuries. Both were wearing helmets and deputies say they are expected to live.

Deputies arrested Torrez-Gutierrez and took him to the Dane County Jail. Investigators say he didn't have a driver's license or insurance.
