RECALL: Discovery Kids lamps - WKOW 27: Madison, WI Breaking News, Weather and Sports

WASHINGTON (WKOW) – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall involving about 300,000 Discovery Kids Animated Marine and Safari Lamps due to fire and burn hazards.

The safety commission says importer Innovage , LLC has received 11 reports of short circuiting, which includes three reports of lamps catching fire, which led to property damage.  No injuries have been reported.

The recalled items were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond, Bonton, JCPenny, Kohl's, Office Max, Toys "R" Us stores nationwide as well as the online retailers Amazon, Ideeli, JCPenny, Macy's and Overstock from June 2010 through March 2012.

If you have one of the recalled items, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says you should stop using them and contact Innovage for instructions on how to get a full refund.
