
PLATTEVILLE (WKOW) -- The Platteville Police Department has released the name of the 28-year-old victim in a death investigation.
Police say Steven Todd Rech from Platteville died early Wednesday morning.
Authorities say Rech was found unresponsive on a lawn near apartments on West Cedar Street.
Neighbor Zach Gevelinger tells 27 News a party had taken place nearby, before the emergency situation.
Gevelinger says one of Rech's friends believed alcohol poisoning caused Rech's condition.
Friends say Rech had been drinking, but don't know how much.
Platteville police officials say no cause of death can be determined until the results of toxicology tests are known.

PLATTEVILLE (WKOW) -- The Platteville Police Department is investigating the death of a 28-year-old male.
Officials say they received a 911 call of an unresponsive male laying in the yard at a residence in the 500 block of West Cedar Street in Platteville around 2:56 a.m. on Wednesday. The caller said that the man may not be breathing.
When officers arrived on scene they administered CPR. The 28-year-old was transported to Southwest Health Center-Platteville, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials say an investigation is being conducted, due to the nature of the death. An autopsy is also being performed.
The current investigation indicates his death appears to be an isolated incident. Officials say there is no immediate danger to the public.
The name is not being released until family members are notified.
