UPDATE: 13-year-old will face charges in adult court

MADISON (WKOW) -- A 13-year-old will face adult charges after stabbing his brother.

The Dane County District Attorney's office confirmed that the teenager is facing 1st degree intentional homicide.

As of Monday afternoon, formal charges had not been filed and a court date is pending. Court officials say he could make his initial appearance as early as Tuesday afternoon.

MADISON (WKOW) -- A 13-year-old male is charged with attempted homicide after stabbing his brother.

The incident happened on the 1700-block of Fordem Avenue about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Police believe the brothers started arguing and then the altercation became physical. The 13-year-old suspect retrieved a knife and stabbed the 21-year-old victim in the chest.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and underwent surgery. He remains in the hospital.

Lt. Stephanie Bradley-Wilson says Sunday morning that it appears he will survive.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police are investigating a stabbing that happened on the 1700-block of Fordem Avenue Saturday evening.

Police say a suspect has been detained. One victim was taken to an area hospital, but they have not released the person's condition.

Police believe this was an isolated incident and the public is not in danger. The investigation is on-going.
