Tee Up for Nursing

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- It's that time of year again! The annual "Tee Up for Nursing" event to help local nursing students at Edgewood College is Monday. This year, the event will also honor Golf Great Kathy Whitworth. Whitworth, the LPGA legend will serve as the tournament chair for the last time, this year.

Edgewood College launched Tee Up for Nursing in 2004 to assist nursing students who rely on financial assistance. Money raised from the annual event supports scholarships through an endowment, created exclusively to provide financial assistance for Edgewood College nursing students.

WKOW's own Bob Lindmeier will be participating in the event, as the team leader, along with John Beard. Al Wearing from Group Health Cooperative spoke to the Wake Up Wisconsin crew about the event and what kind of an impact it has on the community.

The event takes place at Nakoma Golf Club. Registration and brunch begin at 10 a.m. The shotgun start begins at 12 p.m. with cocktails, dinner and a presentation to follow later.  The event will also include a prize raffle, silent auction and event awards.
