UPDATE: 2 people killed after semi collides with motorcycle ID'd

ARLINGTON (WKOW) -- Two people from Madison who were killed in a motorcycle accident in Columbia County on Tuesday have been identified.

Officials say they responded to a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon around 5:00 p.m. on USH 51 and STH 22 in the Township of Leeds.

Authorities say the crash involved a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer unit.

The driver of the motorcycle, 17-year-old Jeremy Brewster, and his passenger, 18-year-old Trevor Jones, died at the scene.

The driver of the truck, 39-year-old Chad Collins of Portage, was not hurt.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says the accident remains under investigation.

Police say it happened around 5 p.m. on USH 51 at STH 22, about five miles south of the Village of Arlington, north of DeForest.

Police say a tractor-trailer was traveling south on 51, when it crossed over the centerline and hit a motorcycle.

The driver and passenger on the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their identities aren't being released until their families are notified.

The driver of the truck, 39-year-old Chad Collins of Portage, was not hurt.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
