
SILVIS, Il. (WKOW) -- Steve Stricker didn't start his first round of the John Deere Classic the way he wanted, but he sure ended it just fine. Stricker carded a 30 on the back nine including an eagle on the par-4 14th en route to a first round 6-under 65. Stricker, who's shooting for his 4th straight win in Silvis, is tied for 3rd place four shots behind the leader Troy Matteson who shot a ten-under 61. Madison's Jerry Kelly shot a 2-under 68.
