MADISON (WKOW) -- Several local communities are putting restrictions on water use to conserve in the drought.
Cottage Grove: Mandatory restrictions are in place. People who live on the odd-numbered side of the street should only sprinkle their lawn on odd-numbered days.
Even-numbered addresses should water on even days.
If you need to water your lawn, officials say you should do so before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m.
Fitchburg: Mandatory restrictions are in place and follow the odd-even watering schedule. If sprinkling the lawn is necessary, residents should do so before 9:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m.
Newer trees may be watered as needed.
Lake Delton: Voluntary restrictions are in place. The Lake Delton Water Utility is asking residents to water before 8:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m.
The utility says there are no restrictions for watering with a hand-held device for gardens, trees, plants and shrubs.
Monona: Voluntary watering restrictions are in place and follow the odd-even schedule. Watering should take place before 10:00 a.m. or after 6:00 p.m.
