Madison named one of the best cities for families

MADISON (WKOW) -- The City of Madison made the top ten as one of the best cities for families.

Madison came in eighth in the rankings by Parenting magazine.

The magazine says Madison was chosen for its healthy, safe living for families, plus it's the type of place where parents can enjoy the culture and entertainment while appreciating the green space and healthy living for their children.

Boston, Massachusetts was the top-ranked city.

The list of the country's top locations for raising kids was compiled by ranking 100 cities based on categories such as education, health, community, charm and culture using nearly 4,000 pieces of data.

Madison was also ranked sixth on the Best Cities for Economy list and seventh on the Best Cities for Education list.
