Train car derailed in Janesville


ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) -- A train car derails in Janesville Tuesday night blocking a five-point intersection for nearly five hours.

Rock County Communications tells 27 News they received a call at 5:25 p.m. for the derailment at Highway 51 and Highway 11.

Sergeant Dean Sukus with the Janesville Police Department tells 27 News he believes one cart derailed containing military equipment such as Humvees.

Sukus says roads were blocked from around 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, which included the five-point intersection in Janesville involving Milwaukee Court and Centerway, Academy and Centerway as well as Jackson and Centerway.

Officials say there are no injuries.
