Walker signs "Lean Government" initiative

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Governor Scott Walker has signed an executive order calling on state agencies to look for ways to eliminate waste and improve services to the public.

The "Lean Government" initiative Walker signed on Wednesday calls on state agencies to define their mission and create measurement criteria for the services they perform. The order also calls for them to identify improvements that can be made without changing the law.

Walker says the goal is to have continuous improvement across state government to provide services to people at the most affordable price.
