
MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Fair continues throughout this weekend at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Hundreds of exhibitors, animals, acts, and entertainment are yours for the taking.
On Friday, Elishah Oesch from Wake Up Wisconsin previews some of this weekend's exhibitors and acts. Among the many different rides and entertainment choices at the Dane County Fair, you can see "Wild About Monkeys." The act has three shows each afternoon and evening throughout the Fair. Kevin Keith works with the monkeys and trains them. One of the stars of the show, Mickey, is also the star of the recent hit movie, Rock of Ages, with Tom Cruise.
Several 4-H members will be competing in a variety of different exhibits. Melissa Vandersanden is showing her beef heifer, as well as competing in flower and cake decorating. Hannah Statz, another 4-H member, will be showing her sheep, and Lindsey Hellenbrand will show her beef steer. They are just a few of the exhibitors and competitors you can see this weekend.
General admission into the Fair for people 12 years and older is $8.00. The price is $3.00 for kids ages 6 to 11. Children under 5 years old are free, and parking is also free. '
Friday is also Kid's Day at the Fair. Children can enjoy all kinds of interactive activities for the kids, Agri-Versity learning areas and a Kiddie Farm located inside the air-conditioned Exhibition Hall.
Fair gates open daily at 7 a.m. The barns open daily at 8 a.m. Commercial exhibits, the Kiddie Farm, and Food Vendors open daily at 10 a.m. The carnival opens at noon.
