Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison saw the South Division team win the Northwoods Baseball League All Star game 4-3, as the Mallards hosted the event for the first time since 2008. Madison Mallards' Tyler Marincov hit the game-winning homerun in the 8th to put the South squad up 4-3 to stay. Marincov was named the game's MVP, or "Star of Stars," as the NWL calls it.

The only other Mallards player in the game was pitcher Anthony Marzi, who pitched a perfect 1-2-3 third inning. Middleton native Brooks Braga recorded a hit in the game for the South. Former Madison College baseball players Tanner and Trey Vavra each had a hit in the game as well.
