MADISON (WKOW) -

Members of the Sikh Society of Wisconsin-Madison, in Middleton, expressed shock over the shootings at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin Sunday morning.

Temple members learned of the oak creek tragedy during their regular Sunday morning prayer, when Middleton police officers came by to alert them of the situation.

"People were very shocked, they were saddened to hear this happen in this setting. You know they were pretty sad, heartbroken," said Surinder Pangli, who is on the Society's Board of Directors.

Pangli says the Madison area Sikh community is closely associated with the Milwaukee area Sikhs and know many of the people who may have been in the Oak Creek temple Sunday morning.
