Two arrested for Green County burglaries

GREEN COUNY (WKOW) -- Two 19-year-old suspects are in Green County Jail in connection with two separate burglaries.

Back on July 22 of this year, the Argyle Rod and Gun Club reported that their building, located on State Highway 81 west of Monroe, was forcibly entered. The club says alcoholic beverages, change and other items were taken.

Early Sunday morning, food items and personal property was stolen from employee lockers at the Klondike Cheese Factory, also located on State Highway between Monroe and Argyle. Officials say the factory was forcibly entered.

Detectives worked with Monroe Police, Lafayette County detectives and Argyle Police to develop suspects in both burglaries.

Nicholas Siegel, of Monroe, was taken into custody in connection with both burglaries on Sunday, while Cody Young, of Argyle, was taken into custody on Monday morning.

Siegel and Young were both charged with two counts of burglary and criminal damage to property. The two are incarcerated in the Green County Jail pending an initial court appearance.

The incidents remain under investigation.
