First lady Michelle Obama has scheduled a trip to Wisconsin to meet with relatives of victims of the August 5 shooting at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in Oak Creek.
The Associated Press cites reports that the White House said Mrs. Obama would meet with those
affected by the tragedy on Thursday in Milwaukee.
Police say the gunman, Wade Michael Page, killed six people attending the temple's August 5 Sunday service before he was shot by an officer and committed suicide.
Page was a 40-year old former Army specialist who investigators say was associated with white supremacists and neo-Nazi groups. Authorities also say they may never know for certain what prompted his attack.
While the President has not traveled to the Milwaukee area to meet with the families of the victims, the administration previously sent Attorney General Eric holder to a memorial service.
The first lady also plans to attend a campaign event while in the Milwaukee area.
