A community picnic Saturday aimed to bring the crime rate down in Madison's Darbo/Worthington neighborhood.
The 9th annual Darbo Family Picnic had live music, a magic show, free food and other activities for members of that community.
Darbo/Worthington neighborhood officer Susie Gonzalez says the turnout was better this year compared to last.
"This is very important for this neighborhood," said Gonzalez. "This is a challenge neighborhood and we like to bring people together so they see law enforcement in a different aspect, so they know that we're concerned about the quality of life over here and that we want to create a good living environment for the children."
The picnic ran from noon to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Park on Worthington Ave.
