MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Members of the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin will speak at a community event hosted by Faith Builders Church.
The event is called "It's All About Us" and will be at 4901 South Howell Avenue in Milwaukee. This location is just two miles away from where the shooting took place about two weeks ago.
The event will start at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The goal is to show the city, the state and the nation that the Sikh Temple community stands up against violence. The group says they support each other "no matter the race, creed or background."
The Reverend Jesse Jackson is scheduled to speak. Other speakers include the Mayor of Oak Creek, Stephen Scaffidi, his wife and Pastor Steve Munsey. Danny Gokey and others will also perform.
The Sikh Temple of Wisconsin was established in October 1997.
