MONONA (WKOW) -- Police are working find out who shot at a house on Shato Street overnight.
Monona police Lt. Frank Fenton tells 27 News officers found four or five bullet holes in the garage of a home on Shato Street, and a rear window shot out of a car parked in the driveway.
Police received a 911 call about shots heard in the area around 12:30 Tuesday morning.
David Hanson and his wife were inside the house at the time. Hanson says he believes the shooting wasn't a random attack, but he doesn't know who would have targeted his house.
"This is targeted, this is targeted directly at this house, [but] yes it is a safe neighborhood," says Hanson.
Fenton says authorities are still investigating. They don't have any suspects, and aren't sure yet whether it was a random act.
"We don't know yet. That's one of the things we look at, but we don't have enough information," Fenton says.
Witnesses described to police a vehicle they saw driving in the area as a silver Toyota 4-door car, but with a vague description, officials say they need more information.
If you know anything about what happened, call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
