Police officer hurt in Sikh temple shooting released from hospital

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- The Oak Creek police officer hospitalized after the shooting at the Sikh temple in Oak Creek has been released.

Lt. Brian Murphy was released on Wednesday from Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. He asks that he and his family have privacy as he continues to heal from his injuries.

There were three men hurt in the shooting. 50-year-old Santokh Singh was released last Wednesday. The other man is still recovering. 65-year-old Punjab Singh remains in critical condition.

All three men were hurt when a gunman opened fire at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin on August 5. Six people were killed. A fourth person was hurt when she was grazed by a bullet.

Authorities say the gunman, Wade Michael Page, shot and killed himself after a shootout with police. They are still investigating his motive behind the shooting.
