COLUMBIA COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Columbia County Sheriff's Department releases the name of the man killed in a car accident on Saturday.
The man has been identified as 43-year-old Daniel Bucheger from Hartford. The crash happened on Highway 60, about half a mile east of County Highway A in Columbus Township.
Both vehicles involved in the accident were towed from the scene with extensive damage.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office received a call about 9:52 a.m. for an accident involving a semi and passenger car.
Upon initial investigation, authorities said the semi was westbound on Highway 60 when the eastbound passenger car crossed the centerline and sideswiped the semi.
Authorities said the driver of the passenger car was pronounced dead at the scene by the Columbia County Medical Examiner.
The crash remains under investigation.

Authorities said the driver of the semi was uninjured in the accident. A passenger in the semi was transported to Columbus Community Hospital for precautionary measures.
Columbia County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin State Patrol and the Columbia County Medical Examiner's Office continue to investigate the accident. Authorities said speed and alcohol are unknown factors at this time.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Columbus Fire Department, Lifestar EMS, Columbia County Highway Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and Blystone's Towing.
