The Madison Metropolitan School District and other community partners helped the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County deliver free backpacks and other school supplies to local students on Sunday.
Madison student, Tia Andruss, came with her mom and brother.
She told us getting the school supplies means a lot for her family.
"She(her Mom) doesn't have to spend money(on this) and we have more money to buy for school clothes."
The students also had the chance to get a free haircut.
Members of the Boys and Girls Club also planned to go door-to-door in some neighborhoods to hand out more backpacks.
