$75M for teaching and research labs at UW-Madison

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- The University of Wisconsin-Madison is moving forward with a $75 million initiative for new research and teaching facilities.

Last week, the UW Board of Regents approved a plan to provide half of the funds for a new livestock and poultry products laboratory. The plan also includes remodeling and expanding Babcock Hall for dairy product research.

The balance of funding is set to come from firms and organizations involved in processing all of those products.

The project has to be approved by the state building commission and included in the 2013-2015 state budget.
