HOWELL, Mich. (WKOW) – A Michigan community is going to great lengths to fool geese into staying off their beach.
The director of the Howell Area Parks and Recreation Authority says they are using fake coyotes to scare them away. They are even moving the fake coyotes at night to trick the geese.
It is all part of an effort to save the beach since it was shut down this month after goose poop was blamed for high levels of E. coli.
The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell report that the beach on Thompson Lake at Howell City Park is expected to be closed for the rest of the summer swimming season.
