JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- While Republican Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan delivered his keynote address at the Republican National Convention in Tampa Wednesday night, watch parties were held across Wisconsin.
It was an excited and enthusiastic crowd at the Janesville event. Audience members got out of their seats in applause throughout Ryan's speech. "I'm really looking forward to the next few months and the election season and really excited to see them win," said Carolyn Mielke of Janesville.
Ryan made several references to his hometown. It's something that energized the watch party audience members. "We're just waiting for the country to see Paul, to get to know Paul," Dan Servais of the Rock County GOP told 27 News.
"I think he hit it out of the park," said Janesville resident Steve Miller. "I've seen Paul before and he does a really good job," he continued.
The Romney-Ryan campaign said about two dozen watch parties were held across the state for Ryan's speech. The same amount of watch parties will happen Thursday night for Romney's speech at the Republication National Convention.
