Beth Schmidt - R
Remarks: Hello, my name is Beth Schmidt. I'm a Republican candidate for the 45th State Assembly District, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. I'm a lifelong resident of the district, and I understand the diversity in the 45th.
I am currently an Orfordville Village Trustee, and I serve on various other boards. I have an associate degree in Accounting, and as we speak I'm a waitress. I'm a waitress at Applebee's, and like yourself I understand hard work and balancing a budget on a fluctuating income.
As we know, we need jobs in the 45th District and I want to go to Madison and work collaboratively with others and make sure that the 45th District has a seat at the table in the discussions.
I want to work with you to make sure that we are bringing security back to your families. I sincerely ask for your vote on November 6. Thank you.
Bio: My name is Beth Schmidt , and I am running for the 45th Assembly District. I have been married to my husband Karl for 32 years. Karl and I have 3 children: daughters Kerrie, Karlie (husband Tim Wellnitz), and our son Joshua, who is an Iraq veteran and just returned from Afghanistan. We also have 2 granddaughters, Addie and Eva. Karl and I have lived in Orfordville for 27 years, which is where we raised our children.
I have strong connections throughout the 45th district. My grandfather was a self-made man who started several successful Beloit businesses in the service and manufacturing industries. I have family who farmed Green County.
Family Values have directed my Career choices. I have an Associate degree in Accounting from Blackhawk Technical College, I worked in the field for five years at Regal Beloit Corporation. I am currently a sever at Applebee's in Janesville, I have been there fifteen years.
I was elected to the Orfordville Village Board in April 2011. I also serve on various other boards. I graduated from Wisconsin Women in Government seminar in February 2012. I have been actively involved in the community for many years, volunteering for school activities, Cub Scouts, March of Dimes, and the Care Ministry and Day of Hope event through Beloit Central Christian, where I am a member.
