Man dies after motor scooter crash in the Town of Burke

TOWN OF BURKE (WKOW) -- A 20-year-old man dies from a motor scooter crash in the Town of Burke.

Dane County Sheriff Deputies and Sun Prairie EMS responded about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday to South Thompson Road at Brooks Drive for the accident. The man hit some loose gravel on the edge of the roadway, causing him to lose control of his motor scooter.

The man was not wearing a helmet and hit his head on the pavement. He suffered significant head injuries.

The man was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The identity of the victim will not be released until family members are notified of the accident.
