Armed home invasion leaves 13 victims tied up

TOWN OF THERESA (WKOW) – The Dodge County Sheriff's Department is investigating an armed home invasion that happened Saturday afternoon in the Town of Theresa.

Authorities said the incident was reported around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Dodge County Sheriff's Department said the victims reported a group of six to eight masked men, who were all armed with handguns, entered the home and tied the 13 occupants, ages 4 to 30's.

All victims were forced into a small room. Officials said some victims were struck with the weapons and some were kicked.

Authorities said as the intruders ransacked the home stealing money and jewelry, two neighbors in their 50's arrived and were immediately confronted by a lone gunman. The gunman forced them out of their vehicle at gunpoint and took them into the house to put with the other victims in the small room.

Officials said jewelry, purses, wallets and cash were taken.

Authorities said the suspects fled in a late model Ford Expedition type vehicle.  One of the victims was able to free himself and run to a neighboring farm to call 911.  No injuries were reported.

Authorities believe the suspects are of Mexican or Puerto Rican descent.  Police describe them as heights of 5'2" to 6'1".  One suspect had a pony tail that was waist length.

Dodge County Sheriff's Department is being assisted by WI Department of Criminal Investigation, Mayville PD and the Dodge County District Attorney.
