MOUNT PLEASANT (WKOW) -- An officer shot and killed a pit bull that charged at him Sunday morning, according to Mount Pleasant police.
A report came in that a man was trapped on top of a car and couldn't get down because a pit bill was trying to attack him. When the officer responded, he used his squad car to separate the two and allow the man to escape. The officer tried to contact the owners but no one answered the door, according to a Journal Times of Racine report.
The dog allegedly chased the man when he got out of his squad car. Police say the officer was forced to shoot in self-defense.
