Milton High School student arrested in connection with stolen gun

MILTON (WKOW) -- The Milton Police Department arrested a local high school student in connection with the recovery of a .45 caliber handgun that had been stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in Milton.

Police say at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, they recovered the handgun as a result of a search at a residence in Harmony Township.

The 16-year-old boy was arrested on a charge of Receiving Stolen Property.

Officials say they are still investigating multiple thefts from vehicles that have been reported.

The police department says individuals that come forward with information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for these crimes are eligible for a cash reward through Janesville Area Crimestoppers. Officials say they can remain anonymous.
