Fuel tanker driver dies in Wood Co. crash

TOWNSHIP OF RICHFIELD (WKOW) -- One person has died in a fuel tanker crash in Wood County.

Authorities say the driver, 47-year-old Rodney Koenemann, of Holmen died at the scene.

Sheriff's officials say the Kwik Trip tanker had a full load of fuel when the driver lost control on a curve in the Township of Richfield, south of Marshfield, around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. The truck rolled over in a ditch along County Highway A.

Authorities say not much fuel was spilled, and will be loaded to another tanker. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has been notified of the spill.
