ADAMS COUNTY (WKOW) -- Authorities have released the name of the man who was fatally shot by an Adams County sheriff's deputy on Wednesday.
Officials say 41-year-old Douglas Natzke was killed by a 27-year-old Adams County sheriff's deputy.
Officials say the deputy has been with the sheriff's office for four years.
Authorities say more information about the shooting will be released as the Wisconsin Department of Justice -- Division of Criminal Investigation continues to investigate this incident.
TOWN OF PRESTON (WKOW) – An Adam's County Sheriff's Deputy is on administrative leave after firing his weapon at an armed subject Wednesday morning.
The Adams County Sheriff's Office received a report of gunfire in the Town of Preston.
Authorities said the responding sheriff's deputies confronted an armed subject outside of his residence. The sheriff's deputy fired his duty weapon and fatally wounded a 41-year-old male subject.
Officials said the deputy has been placed on administrative leave and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident.
Authorities said no other injuries were sustained and no further information is being released at this time.
