Man dies after crashing pick-up truck in Rock Co.

LA PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- One person is dead in a single vehicle crash in Rock County.

Authorities say John Wegner, 47, from Sharon, Wisconsin was found dead after he crashed his pick-up truck on Milton-Shopiere Road in the town of La Prairie, south east of Janesville.

Wegner was approaching a railroad bridge over Milton-Shopiere Road when he lost control of the vehicle. The car went off the road and hit the concrete base of the bridge, overturning the truck. Wegner was ejected as the vehicle caught fire.

Wegner was not wearing a seatbelt. Authorities say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
