MADISON (WKOW) -- Children ageS three and up took part in Saturday morning's Ironkids Fun Run one day before Madison's Ironman event.
The children ran one loop around the Capitol and the all received medals for their effort.
A father of two, who's taking part in his first Ironman in Madison on Sunday, told us he thought the Ironkids event helps promote a healthy lifestyle.
"This morning they were asking, 'Are we going to do anything else?' So they were excited about doing that," said John Williams.
The Ironman starts at 7:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
Athletes will complete a 2-point-4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a 26-point-2 mile run.
