Police search for suspect in W. Washington Ave. robbery

MADISON (WKOW) – Madison Police are searching for a male suspect involved in a robbery on Washington Avenue early Sunday morning.

The incident happened around 2:56 a.m. on the 700 block of West Washington Avenue.

Authorities said a female victim was walking when she was approached by a suspect.  Officials said the suspect, who possibly assaulted her, took several credit cards.

Police are still investigating and describe the suspect as a black male with a medium to heavy build.  The suspect is around 22-30 years of age and is 5'9"
