ARGYLE (WKOW) -- The state attorney general's office said Sunday afternoon that Armin Wand, the father of three young boys killed in a Friday morning fire in Argyle, has been booked into the Lafayette County Jail and is facing a tentative felony charge of Arson of a Building with Intent to Defraud. His 18-year-old brother, Jeremy L. Wand, also of Argyle, faces the same charge.

The Argyle-Adams Fire Department responded to the house fire at 3:10 a.m. Friday, at 402 Oak Street in the Village of Argyle.

The three boys -- 7-year-old Allen, 5-year-old Jeffrey and 3-year-old Joseph -- were killed in the fire.

"It's been hard. I mean after what happened with the three boys. I mean, we were pretty close. I looked at them boys like they were my own, and then my sister -- the only sibling that I have, is in critical condition at the hospital," Amy Peterson says. Peterson also says her sister, Sharon Wand is four months pregnant.

Before being taken into custody, Armin Wand spoke with 27 News from UW Hospital, where his wife is in intensive care. He said Sharon was not doing well.

Peterson says that she had been with Wand at the hospital. "He's not really talkative and he's just sort of been closed up -- he's just been pretty much hanging his head," she says.

Armin and Sharon Wand's two-year-old daughter is out of the hospital and doing okay.

An investigation is being conducted by the Village of Argyle Police Department, Lafayette County Sheriff's Office and the Division of Criminal Investigation.
