Glendale Heights couple gets married during Ironman Madison

MADISON (WKOW) -- A couple gets married before finishing the Ironman Madison race on Sunday.

Louie Caffero and Tammy Schlau graduated from West Leyden High School in 1982 together. They didn't have contact for about 30 years until they met up in the spring of 2009 on Facebook.

Louie asked Tammy to do a Muddy Buddy Race and that's how they started training and dating.

The newlyweds live in Glendale Heights, Illinois. Reverend Paul Brown married the couple. Brown was a swim coach for Louie and Tammy at Leyden High School.

They traveled to Madison to compete in the Ironman race on Sunday.
