Posted:

OAK CREEK (WKOW) -- Oak Creek police have released video that show the final moments before the Sikh temple gunman died.

Police say Wade Michael Page started shooting inside that temple in Oak Creek last month, killing six worshippers and hurting several others, including a police officer who responded. Page was shot by another officer, but investigators say he was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The video released Monday is from squad car dashboard cameras. Police will withhold or pixelate images that are very graphic.

WKOW's Greg Neumann will have more on what authorities are saying about this video tonight on 27 News at 5 and 6.

OAK CREEK (WKOW) -- Police will release video Monday that may show the final moments before the Sikh temple gunman died.

Police say Wade Michael Page started shooting inside that temple in Oak Creek last month, killing six worshippers and hurting several others, including a police officer who responded. Page was shot by another officer, but investigators say he was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The FBI says there is video showing an officer taking Page down with a "remarkable" shot to the abdomen from 75 feet away. Part of that video is supposed to be released Monday afternoon, but it's not clear which part. The video is from squad car dashboard cameras. Police will withhold or pixelate images that are very graphic.

The video is being released after the Associated Press and others made requests as part of the open records law.
