
MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Police Department is searching for a suspect, who allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted a 22-year-old Madison woman early Sunday morning.
According to police, the woman said she was walking in the 700 block on West Washington Avenue around 2:56 a.m. on Sunday when a gunman grabbed her and pulled her into Brittingham Park. She told police her attacker threatened, battered, choked and sexually assaulted her. She also said the man stole her credit card.
Officials say they are looking for the male suspect who is described as black, 22 to 30 years old, around 5'9" to 5'10", 160 to 180 pounds, with a medium to heavy build, dark complexion, a wide-set jaw and a short "buzzed" hair style.
He was last seen walking toward John Nolen Drive.
Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 266-6014. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.
