GRANT COUNTY (WKOW) -- Two men arrested for growing marijuana made their first court appearances Friday.
Travis Sedlak, 32, and Matthew Boyd, 32, each appeared in Grant County Court. Sedlak was given a $5,000 cash bond. Boyd was given a $2,500 cash bond.
Sedlak is charged with manufacturing marijuana, possessing the drug with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug house. A charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm was not filed against Sedlak because previous charges in the state of Nebraska were dismissed.
Boyd is charged with being party to manufacturing marijuana.
The Richland Iowa Grant Drug Task Force searched safes taken from Sedlak's home in Platteville. They found baggies of marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms and $14,000 in cash.
GRANT COUNTY (WKOW) -- Authorities say two men were arrested on marijuana charges after nearly 350 plants were found.
Officials with the Richland Iowa Grant Drug Task Force and Grant County Sheriff's Department served a search warrant on the 3800 block of Roddick Lane in the Township of Ellenboro on Tuesday.
Authorities say they found four separate marijuana growing operations. Each operation was in different stages of production.
Officials say a total of 347 marijuana plants were located throughout the residence with several pounds of finished product. They also confiscated a large amount of money from the home, along with several firearms and ammunition.
Investigators say the street value of the marijuana is more than $300,000.
Travis Sedlak, of Platteville, and Matthew Boyd, of Dodgeville, were arrested. Sedlak faces charges of manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of paraphernalia, felon in possession of a firearm, and maintaining a drug house. Boyd faces a manufacturing marijuana party to a crime.
Officials say this is an ongoing investigation and additional charges are pending.
